(Re) Wired One-Wall Show: Nikolette Bellochio
“Nikolette Bellocchio is a printmaker who lives in the Hudson Valley following her graduation from SUNY New Paltz. Her art focuses on capturing emotions in their physical form, in attempts to make them supralinguistic and visceral. By thinking about feelings and what they could look like, she concocts a quixotic-elixir of vivid imagery with a gluttonous color palette.
While creating, she thinks about loneliness, tenderness, love, or any emotion related to the human condition. A compilation of notes, nostalgic items, sometimes imagined places, and ambiguous lines create an imagined space that then becomes a sentimental capsule.
Driven by the inherent want to connect to others, art becomes a universal language to communicate with others, and Nikolette’s art is a determined attempt to share sentiments with her viewers.”
