ELISABETH LADWIG: Thresholds
ROXIE JOHNSON: Lost in Translation
August 30 - September 14, 2025
Opening Reception: Saturday, August 30, 5-7 PM
Two distinct exhibitions:
ELISABETH LADWIG:: Thresholds
Award-winning photographic artist Elisabeth Ladwig makes her solo debut at Wired Gallery with Thresholds, a show of modern surrealist photography. Ladwig’s multi-layered works combine her signature blending of photographs, seamlessly fusing studio subjects, natural scenes from field trips, and hand-crafted elements into visually evocative tableaus. Her images often feature anonymous figures set against outdoor landscapes, inviting viewers to participate in the story. Ladwig’s broad artistic career began as a graphic artist in NYC’s music and entertainment industry before moving to the Hudson Valley, where abundant woodlands and water sources now provide endless inspiration for her creative process. Her work has been exhibited from Scottsdale to Rome, gracing covers of magazines and digital displays in Times Square and at the Louvre.
ROXIE JOHNSON: Lost in Translation
Roxie Johnson presents Lost in Translation, an ensemble of abstract paintings, drawings, and prints that weave together chaos and order in densely layered spatial environments. Johnson’s work thrives on the gap between random elements and underlying organization, often incorporating found materials and collage techniques. Through incessant layering, erasure, and reconstructive collage, Johnson’s pieces present traces of human presence alongside organic and inorganic forms. Her approach is rooted in decades of fine art and arts education, including an MFA from Syracuse University and specialized studies in printmaking with master printers. Recognized for unique etching processes and emotionally resonant studio environments, Johnson’s career highlights include a National Endowment for the Humanities grant, fellowships at Skidmore College, awards from Palm Springs Art Museum and NAWA, and recognition in the Smithsonian Archives of American Art.

So Different, So What!
A Showcase of 9W Artists
September 20 – November 9, 2025
Opening Reception: Saturday, September 20, 5–7 PM
Wired Gallery is pleased to present So Different, So What!, a group exhibition by 9W Artists, on view from September 20 through November 9, 2025.
Founded in 2024 by New York–based artist and educator Jill Ziccardi, 9W Artists is a collective of Hudson Valley–based visual artists united by a lifelong commitment to making and exhibiting their work regionally, nationally, and internationally. More than a matter of shared style, the group thrives on its plurality—embracing divergent voices bound together by friendship, mutual support, and the cultural richness of the region.
So Different, So What! celebrates this pluralist spirit, foregrounding the unique perspectives of seven accomplished artists:
• Archil Pichkhadze
• Dionisio Cortes
• Edward M. O’Hara
• Jill Ziccardi
• Leticia Ortega
• Paul Chidester
• Polly Reina
Together, their works span abstraction and figuration, painting and print, installation and sculpture—revealing the kaleidoscopic simultaneity that defines contemporary practice. From Pichkhadze’s enigmatic narratives of magical realism to Cortes’s dynamic explorations of perception and form; from O’Hara’s tactile collaborations with the natural world to Ziccardi’s feminist-inflected iconography; from Ortega’s fluid play between memory, figure, and landscape to Chidester’s inventive reconfigurations of the familiar; and Reina’s bold abstract expressionism—each artist contributes a distinct vision. Taken together, they embody the exhibition’s provocation: that difference is not a divide, but a source of vitality.
