SARAH KATZ: Between Form and Feeling
JUST CUZ: Abe Longbotham & August Finn
June 13 - 29, 2025

Two distinct exhibitions: “Between Form and Feeling,” featuring the lively figurative ceramics of Sarah Katz, and “Just Cuz,” showcasing the meditative wood and mixed-media sculptures of Abe Longbotham alongside the vibrant, abstract paintings of August Finn.

SARAH KATZ: Between Form and Feeling
Sarah Katz brings a lifetime of sculptural mastery to her latest body of work. A graduate of Rochester Institute of Technology’s School for American Craftsmen and California College of the Arts, Katz has exhibited widely throughout the New York metropolitan area and is affiliated with esteemed organizations such as the National Sculpture Society and the National Arts Club.
Katz’s figurative ceramics invite viewers into a space where intention and perception meet. Rooted in storytelling, her practice investigates how objects become events through our engagement with them, especially focusing on the depiction and experience of women. As Katz observes, “There is a long tradition of men looking at naked women in art. I think it’s interesting to see a woman regarding a woman.” Her sculptures blend personal observation and cultural projection, creating forms that both honor her subjects and challenge traditional narratives.
Now retired from teaching, Katz divides her time between New York City and her Hudson Valley studio, continuing to explore the intersection of form, intention, and viewer experience.

JUST CUZ: Abe Longbotham & August Finn
“Just Cuz” marks the professional gallery debut of cousins Abe Longbotham and August Finn—two emerging artists in their mid-twenties with distinct yet complementary approaches to visual art.

Abe Longbotham
A sculptor working in wood, glass, and metal, Longbotham constructs minimalist forms that interrogate sentience, morality, and the impact of technology on humanity and the planet. Raised on a nature preserve in High Falls, Longbotham’s background in physics and computational mechanics directly informs his process, blending algorithmic planning with traditional craftsmanship. His work meditates on abstraction and environmental responsibility, producing elegant forms with a uniquely temporal element.

August Finn
Finn’s paintings burst with color, text, and improvisational energy, exploring memory, emotion, and the organic world. His canvases often combine bold hues, spontaneous marks, and snippets of language, striking a balance between chaos and structure. Finn’s work invites viewers to find their own stories within a dense thicket of references—whether glimpsed in a woodland scene, a pattern of recollection, or a field of shifting dots. Ultimately, his art seeks to ignite curiosity and playful engagement with everyday experience.

DION OGUST: Into Landscape
In Into Landscape, Woodstock-based artist Dion Ogust presents a series of landscape paintings that seek moments of peace, beauty, and respite amid global chaos. Ogust, a long-time visual artist and photographer, turns to nature for inspiration and renewal, painting both real and imagined scenes that celebrate the planet’s intrinsic artistry. Her works invite viewers to rest in the beauty of the natural world and reflect on its power to heal and inspire.

Ogust’s artistic journey began in New York City and has flourished in the Hudson Valley since the 1980s. Renowned for her portrait photography and photojournalism, Ogust’s images have appeared in publications worldwide. As the digital era transformed photography, she expanded her practice to include printmaking and painting, studying at the Woodstock School of Art. Her paintings and photographs have been exhibited at notable venues including The Woodstock Framing Gallery, Byrdcliffe Kleinert Gallery, Center for Photography at Woodstock, and The Wired Gallery, among others. Her works are held in collections across New York, Chicago, and Los Angeles.

DILARA MILLER: Sultana Crossword

Sultana Crossword features the work of High Falls-based interdisciplinary artist Dilara Miller, whose ceramics and prints critically engage with the social and cultural experiences of being a Turkish-American Muslim woman. Drawing from antiquities and historical epochs, Miller examines patterns of hierarchy and eco-feminist themes, reflecting on women’s roles in spirituality and the generational cycles that shape our world. Her ceramic works, inspired by Ottoman and Byzantine traditions, serve as metaphors for the endurance of culture and the sacred relationship between humanity and the Earth.

Miller holds a BFA from the University of Colorado, Boulder, and an MFA from Northern Illinois University, with a focus on printmaking and ceramics. She is the director of Neighborhood Print Studio in Kingston, NY. Her work has been exhibited nationally and internationally, including at the Woman, Life, Freedom exhibit in Chicago, ALHAMDU | Muslim Futurism at the Fine Arts Center in Colorado Springs, and the 8th International Lithographic Symposium in Sweden. Her art has also appeared in the MAPC Journal and The Hand Magazine.
